What is the Difference Between a Pump Unloader and Regulator?

To learn more, here are some pressure regulator basics:

How an Unloader Functions

Typically designed for use with a single gun or single pump operation. The pump unloader will maintain set system pressure with the trigger gun open and goes into bypass with the release of the trigger. They are not recommended for weep systems. 5-10 percent in by-pass is recommended for optimum performance.

How a Regulator Functions

Regulators, on the other hand, are designed for pumps, multi-nozzle, or weep systems. A regulator maintains set system pressure even when only one of several guns or nozzles is performing by-passing the unused flow. Similar to pump unloaders, 5-10 percent in bypass is recommended.
